The best LVT flooring for your home is a product you like, with a specification and fitting method that suit the room, at a complete project cost you can afford. There is no single winning brand or universal minimum wear layer for every kitchen, hallway or bedroom.
Use this guide to build a shortlist, then compare samples and the exact product details before buying.
Choose for the room first
- Kitchen: check spill resistance, cleaning instructions, appliances, fixed units and the required preparation. Both suitable gluedown and click products can be considered. Read our kitchen LVT guide.

- Bathroom: confirm the exact product and installation are approved for the intended use. Waterproof flooring is not the same as a waterproof room; do not assume suitability for a wet room or shower area.
Shortlist designs across own-brand and branded ranges

Read the specification correctly
Total thickness and wear-layer thickness measure different things. A thicker overall floor is not automatically more wear-resistant, and a wear-layer figure alone does not prove a lifespan, warranty or room rating.
For example, Polyflor's Camaro PUR specification lists 2.0mm total thickness and a 0.3mm wear layer. Camaro Rigid Core PUR is a separate construction, not the same product with a different name. Keep the exact range and format attached to every comparison.
Check the manufacturer's stated use classification, room suitability and warranty terms. For rentals or commercial premises, confirm the intended use explicitly instead of selecting by wear layer alone.
Decide how it will be fitted
Gluedown LVT needs a prepared base and a compatible bonding system. Click flooring has its own rules for flatness, moisture, expansion, transitions and backing. Neither is a shortcut around an unsuitable subfloor.
Do not automatically add underlay to a product with attached backing or select one adhesive for every floor. Use our installation-format comparison, underlay guide and heating checklist. Ask an installer to assess the base before committing to the order.
Compare the whole job, not just the price per m²
Calculate whole packs using the measured area, product coverage and an agreed cutting allowance. Then add preparation, fitting, approved accessories, finishing work and delivery. A herringbone layout may change both quantity and labour, so confirm it before comparing totals.
