Choosing the right gripper
Two factors: subfloor type + length.
For wood subfloors: wood pin gripper (pins nail into wood subfloor). Heavier-duty for high-traffic.
For concrete subfloors: concrete pin gripper OR dual-purpose. Pins should be slightly shorter to avoid cracking concrete.
Quantity: measure the perimeter of your room, add 10% for cutting wastage and corners.
Gripper installation tips
Lay gripper around the entire room perimeter with the pins facing the wall. Leave a 6-10mm gap between gripper and wall (about the thickness of the carpet). Nail or glue down depending on subfloor. Use mitre shears to cut around door jambs and pipes.
