Collection: Saxony Carpets

Saxony is the carpet you sink into — a deep, dense cut pile with longer tufts than a standard twist, giving that soft, luxurious "new carpet feeling" underfoot. We stock more than 45 saxony carpets at trade-direct prices, from calm neutrals to rich greys and warm creams — with a free sample on every roll so you can feel the pile before you buy.

Where saxony works best

Bedrooms and living rooms are saxony's natural home — anywhere comfort matters more than heavy traffic. A deeper pile shows footprints and vacuum lines more than a tight twist does (many people love that plush, just-hoovered look), so for hallways and stairs a hard-wearing twist pile is usually the better partner, with saxony kept for the rooms where you kick your shoes off.

Choosing your saxony

Polypropylene saxonies are the practical pick — naturally stain-resistant, bleach-cleanable and made for real family life; see our stain-resistant ranges if spills are a certainty. Wool-mix saxonies spring back better and feel warmer, at a higher price. Heavier pile weights feel deeper and last longer — if you're between two, take the heavier one for the room you use most. Popular shades run from soft greys to warm creams.

Trade-direct saxony carpets

Every saxony is cut to size and sold at trade-direct prices to homeowners, landlords and fitters across the UK, with underlay and accessories to complete the job and free UK delivery on orders over £200.

Saxony carpet FAQ

Is saxony carpet good for stairs?

It can be used on stairs, but a dense twist usually wears better there. If you want one carpet throughout, choose the heaviest saxony weight you can.

Does saxony carpet flatten?

All deep piles settle in walkways over time. Regular vacuuming lifts the pile, and heavier weights resist flattening best.

What's the difference between saxony and twist?

Twist carpets have tightly twisted, shorter fibres for a crisp, hard-wearing finish. Saxony has longer, straighter tufts for a softer, deeper feel.

How much carpet do I need?

Measure the room at its longest and widest points and allow a little extra for trimming — or call us on 01903 861 474 and we'll do the maths with you.
