How the wastage allowance works
Every flooring job produces offcuts — planks cut at walls, doorways and around units. For straight-lay planks and tiles the industry standard is 5% extra; herringbone and diagonal patterns cut at 45° along every edge, so allow 10%. Ordering the right amount in one go matters because colour batches vary slightly between production runs.
