Choose underlay for the complete flooring system

Underlay is not interchangeable between carpet, laminate, wood and vinyl. Start with the exact floorcovering, backing and installation method, then check the manufacturer's approved products and limits.

Vinyl and LVT

Do not treat Xtrafloor Flex Pro as a universal click-floor underlay. Moduleo describes its current Flex Pro Pure as a self-adhesive system for compatible dryback flooring. Confirm the exact supplied product and approved floorcoverings before ordering. Click floors may need a specific underlay or have integral backing; an additional layer is not automatically permitted.

Laminate and engineered wood

Check permitted thickness, compression performance, moisture-control requirements and any underfloor-heating resistance limits. Do not select by thickness alone or use carpet underlay beneath a locking floor unless explicitly approved. Browse the listings for the exact product's specification.

Carpet underlay

Match the underlay to the carpet backing, room use, stairs where relevant and finished floor height. A thicker product is not always the correct choice. Include door clearance and the carpet-plus-underlay heating specification in your checks.

Preparation and quantities

Underlay does not repair damp, structural movement or an unsuitable subfloor. Agree any smoothing or plywood overlay separately with your installer. Use the supplied roll coverage and room layout to calculate quantities, and check current availability before arranging fitting.
