About this Cross-Grain Marquetry Strip
A wider (10mm) wood-grain feature strip laid between LVT planks for a striking decorative inlay or bold border effect. Cross-grain construction runs the wood grain across the strip rather than along it, creating a distinctive contrast against straight-laid LVT planks.
Polyflor LVT inlay strips are cut from the same wear-layer material as the Polyflor LVT range itself, so colour, wear performance and durability all match the surrounding floor. Whether you're laying a perimeter tramline, a ship's-deck inlay between planks, or replicating authentic grout lines between stone tiles, these are the strips Polyflor specify for the job.
Choosing the Right Gauge
This is a 2mm gauge strip — use with 2mm gauge Polyflor LVT planks (standard Camaro range).
Polyflor strips must match the gauge of your LVT planks/tiles for a flush finish. If your tiles are bevelled, choose a gauge 0.5mm less than the tile gauge so the strip sits below the bevelled edge. If you're unsure, check your Polyflor product code or contact us with the range name and we'll confirm.
Installation
Glue down using Polyflor F44 or an equivalent acrylic LVT adhesive. Strips are laid in the gap between LVT planks/tiles during the main floor installation — they cannot be retrofitted to an existing floor without lifting tiles. As a rough guide, allow 1 pack of strips per 3 packs of LVT tiles for grouting, or 1 pack per 2 packs of LVT planks for marquetry — confirm with your fitter for the specific design.
