SPC Flooring UK: Waterproof Click LVT at Trade-Direct Prices

SPC has the toughest core of any LVT. A Stone Plastic Composite core makes it fully waterproof, dent resistant and stable through temperature swings, and it clicks together with no glue. We import four own-brand SPC ranges direct, 45 designs from £13.00 per square metre. Free samples on every colour.

Pick your range

  • Woods Click from £13.00/m². 4.4mm, 0.2mm wear layer, 2.65m² per box, 5 colours. Our best-selling SPC and the keenest price on the page.
  • Essentials SPC from £16.18/m². 4.4mm, 0.2mm wear layer, 6 colours. Same build as Woods Click with a different set of shades, including cooler greys.
  • Attraction SPC from £28.78/m². 5.2mm, 0.3mm wear layer, 22 colours. A thicker board, a tougher surface and by far the widest choice of shades. Firmer underfoot and better at bridging small subfloor imperfections.
  • Ultimate SPC from £39.58/m². 6.5mm, 0.5mm wear layer, underlay already bonded to the back, 12 colours. The toughest surface we stock in SPC, no separate underlay to buy or lay, quieter underfoot and the most forgiving over an imperfect subfloor.

Ultimate looks like the expensive option until you price the underlay you would otherwise buy for the others. If you are laying over a concrete slab or a floor you would rather not level, it is usually the cheaper job overall.

Which wear layer do I need?

The wear layer is the clear top surface, and it is what decides how much traffic the floor takes. Every range on this page is a residential specification. We do not sell these as commercial or contract grade.

  • 0.2mm suits bedrooms, lounges, rentals and normal domestic footfall.
  • 0.3mm is the sensible default for kitchens, hallways and family homes.
  • 0.5mm is the one to choose for pets, children, or a hallway that takes a hammering.

Paying for more wear layer than the room needs is the most common way people overspend. Paying for less is the most common way they end up relaying it.

What is SPC flooring?

SPC stands for Stone Plastic Composite. It is a rigid-core luxury vinyl where the core is limestone powder, PVC and stabilisers. That gives it three advantages over standard glue-down LVT:

  • Fully waterproof. The rigid core will not absorb water, swell or warp. Suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and utility rooms.
  • Click-fit installation. No adhesive. The planks lock together and float over the subfloor, so it is the easiest LVT to lay yourself.
  • Dimensional stability. SPC does not expand and contract with temperature the way standard LVT can, so it suits conservatories, sunrooms and underfloor heating.

SPC or glue-down LVT?

  • SPC click, this page. Waterproof, no glue, any room including bathrooms. Firmer underfoot. The DIY-friendly choice.
  • Glue-down LVT, water-resistant, 2mm to 2.5mm, bonded to the subfloor. Thinner build-up under doors and a softer, quieter feel. Also available with a thicker 0.55mm or 0.7mm wear layer. See our glue-down LVT ranges.
  • Herringbone, the parquet pattern in LVT format. See herringbone LVT.

How to lay SPC click flooring

No glue and no special tools beyond a tape measure and a sharp knife. A competent DIYer will do a typical room in one to three hours.

  1. Acclimatise the boxes in the room for 48 hours before laying
  2. Lay an underlay if you need sound dampening. Xtrafloor Flex Pro is the obvious pairing. Ultimate SPC already has underlay bonded on, so skip this step
  3. Start in a corner. Click the planks long-side first, then snap into the previous row
  4. Leave a 5mm to 10mm expansion gap at the perimeter, covered later by skirting or scotia
  5. Cut around obstacles with a sharp knife or an LVT cutter

SPC flooring FAQ

Is SPC flooring fully waterproof?

Yes. The rigid SPC core will not absorb water, swell or warp, so SPC click works in bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms, conservatories and any wet-prone area.

Is SPC suitable for pets?

The waterproof core handles accidents without any trouble. For claws, go up the wear layers: Ultimate SPC at 0.5mm is the one we would put in a home with dogs, rather than the 0.2mm ranges.

Can SPC go over underfloor heating?

Yes, up to a 27°C subfloor surface temperature. Compatible with electric and water-fed systems.

Do I need underlay?

Ultimate SPC has underlay bonded to the back, so no. For Woods Click, Essentials and Attraction, underlay is optional but worth it on concrete or where you want to cut down footfall noise.

How many boxes do I need?

Box coverage varies by range, so check the figure on the product page. Woods Click covers 2.65m² per box. Measure the room, add 10% for waste, divide by the box coverage and round up. Example: 12m² plus 10% is 13.2m², divided by 2.65 is 4.98 boxes, so order 5. The calculator on each product page does this for you.

How long will it last?

That depends far more on the wear layer than on the core. A 0.2mm floor in a bedroom will long outlast a 0.2mm floor in a busy hallway. Match the wear layer to the room using the guide above and check the warranty stated on the individual product page.

Can I get free samples?

Yes, free samples on every colour on this page. Order free samples or call 01903 861474.
