Tools for flooring preparation and fitting

Browse spreaders, cutting tools, gripper shears and preparation equipment below. Choose tools for the exact flooring, adhesive and fitting method rather than treating one kit as suitable for every job.

Adhesive spreaders

The adhesive manufacturer specifies the trowel notch and application rate for the floorcovering and substrate. Different notches are not interchangeable. Do not assume a spreader is needed for every laminate or click-floor installation.

Cutting and preparation

Check blade and tool compatibility, follow the manufacturer's safe-use instructions and use suitable protective equipment. Measure preparation materials with the specified equipment and ratios; a mixing bucket alone does not determine the correct mix.

Carpet fitting tools

Shears, seam equipment and stretching tools have different roles. Use the equipment and method specified for the carpet and room; a knee kicker is not a substitute for every stretching operation.
